Life Education
of Florida provides training classes for Individuals, health care
professionals and organizations. Classes
can be held at your site or ours, week days, evenings or weekends. Home
study courses are available for HIV/AIDS and Domestic Violence.
Contact hours available for CPR, HIV/AIDS and Domestic Violence. Some
courses qualify for continuing education credits. If you are a private
instructor or safety director and would like to teach the best and most
current programs available, please contact us.

CPR
Our CPR courses cover adult,
infant and child, two person, bag mask ventilation, use of an automated
external defrillator (AED). These courses are for the healthcare
provider, daycare workers and general public.
Instructor
& Instructor Trainer
Student's interested in this
course must be committed to teaching several CPR courses per year. Join
a winning team.
FIRST AID
Our First Aid program has
been approved by the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Swimming, Florida Department
of Elder Affairs and meets or exceeds the requirements of the Department
of Transportation.
This course teaches a common
sense approach to caring for injured or ill adults, infants and
children. Course topics include:
PET
FIRST AID
This program includes how to
approach an ill or injured animal, rescue breathing, CPR, choking, how
to control bleeding, how to care for injuries to muscles and bones, heat
and cold related emergencies and more. This program is not intended to
replace veterinary care but rather teaches how to save a pet's life in
an emergency situation or to minimize a pet's trauma after an injury.
Always after an emergency have your pet checked out by your local vet.
Our First Responder course
has received approval from the State of Florida, Department of EMS. It
is a comprehensive 40 hour CPR and advanced First Aid course including
triage, extrication, body mechanics and more.
This course includes the
history of the virus, how the virus is transmitted, demographics and
epidemiology of the disease, how it affects the body, therapies and more
This course includes the
recognition of domestic violence in a home setting and the workplace,
stalking, identifying number of patients who are likely to be victims
and the number who are likely to be perpetrators of domestic violence,
screening procedures, identifying community resources that provide
information to victims, state mandatory reporting requirements according
to the Florida Statutes and more.
OSHA
BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS
This course meets the annual
update requirement of OSHA. It includes the definition and types of
bloodborne pathogens, mode of transmission, how to protect yourself,
incubation period, signs and symptoms of exposure, post exposure prophylaxis,
vaccines, and exposure control and more.
Also available, yearly 1 hour
update course.

INFECTION
PREVENTION COURSE
The course includes how to prevent the spread of infectious or
communicable diseases in the workplace, how diseases are spread, the methods of transmission, preventing a needle
stick, sharps,
biohazard waste disposal, good housekeeping, cleaning and decontamination,
Hepatitis B shots, how to stop transmission, personal protective equipment, post exposure procedures, contact spread diseases. It
explains how exposure control programs work.

PERSONAL CARE
& HYGIENE
This course provides an
overview of personal care and hygiene needs of residents and includes
topics on adapting for special needs clients, guidelines for specific
problems, building the patient's confidence, preventing pressure sores,
staff assistance with walking, using proper body mechanics and more.

WITH MEDICATION
The course teaches the student
how to assist the resident when they are taking their medication correctly
including proper documentation and cross contamination prevention.

MEDICAL
ERRORS
This course identifies medical errors and near errors. Relates the
importance of patient safety to the reduction of hospital based medical errors. Discusses how to recognize error prone situations, error
prevention and reduction strategies including root cause analysis. Distinguishes safety needs of special populations and encourages
patient education toward error prevention.
